- Always Use 5% CashBack – Gas stations offer consumers cash back when using credit cards that have the CashBack option. This is a great way to save money on gas as many of us already use a credit card anyways. Pay off the complete balance at the end of the month to avoid any interest charges and pocket the savings. - Stop “Topping Up” – Most pumps are pre-paid now which will eliminate “Topping Up”. However if you do find yourself at a pumping gas and the pump clicks off, this indicates that your tank is full. It has been proven that any gas that is pumped after the initial click off actually remains in the gas stations pump or evaporates.
